.Mistletoe and Whine.

Judy on our course is organising an Advent Calendar, which will be available for sale at the Kinsgate Exhibition (private view, 23rd November) and of course, instead of doing a tasteful Christmas scene, i went for a vile photo of me, aged 16, off my face at a Crack Zombie Christmas 'Do. I don't think Crack Zombie exists anymore (i have a vague recollection of an end of the road warehouse party) but unfortunately, this photograph does. enjoy.

.Hot Dog, Jumping Frog, Albuquerque.

.back to school means back to frantically hashing together an image for Meow Magazine, usually the night, if not the hour before submission deadline. True to form, I've banged something up, in this case a little picture of my dear friend Grace, on her birthday, as a hot dog. True Dat. Anyway, the text is a VILE, VILE HORRID FONT but i can't really be bothered to bum around with it.

.I Can't Get No Sleep.

.At around 9pm last night, i decided my book covers were shittttt. So while most people would do a little bit of fiddling, maybe play with the type, or experiement with different colours, i decided to start over. New concept, new style. It's now 7.45am. And I'm finished! But have had far too much lucozade to sleep before rolling into uni for my crit. Anyhu, here are the set of 3 book jackets and accompanying slipcase for 3 of Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books. WHOO.

.Trophy Wifey.

Two posts in one day, yeah? The surprises are endless! Anyway been in a riot grrl mood this arvo so a bit of Partyline for the title (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoniDNZlFiw) of this loverly little post of a few illustrations from my Housewife's Handbook. I'm not very good at collage, but as i'm not very good at drawing either, it seemed like the better option.

.These Girls from Birkenhead, They Have a Wire Loose Inside Their Head.

So, I've realised quite what a bad blog momma i am, so in lieu of new shiny art work, here's a book of print i made about the fabulous BirkenVegas...
There is a mixture of drawing, linoprint, monoprint, screen printing and a bit of collage along the way.

er time for a little confession, ^this is actually St. Lukes in Liverpool. Shhh.
some of the prints, like this one are almost indiscernible, but i like the grebbyness. very vegas.

.C'mon C'mon.

AHHH sweet beautiful internet! i have been without you for so long! and it is all virgin media's fault. Unfortunatly being flung back 50 years has only made me read more and not draw more, but i did make this fetching cushion for dear old Chenade's birthday (hense the C, yeah?) so have an oggle.

Warm Leatherette

Been watching "Synth Britannia"(still available on BBC iPlayer for them thats interested) but theres lots of JG Ballard links in the early days of synth, in particular the Normal song, Warm Leatherette which is about Ballard's book Crash. With this in mind it seems appropriate to put up the illustrations i did for Crash last year. The whole idea behind these images was to capture the sort of blank polishedness of 'future'. the images are also supposed to be looking at the car in a pseudosexual manner. Who knows if it works or not, but im quite pleased with them.

Bad to Have a Bad Uncle.

.Oh! William! What's Occurring?.

just a couple of final images that are still sort of works-in-progress from the book "Oh William!" i'm working on for the MacMillan childrens book brief. im very aware that my book won't be put forward for submission, but i just want something to hand in to try and bolster my marks for this year. ideally someone will come and tell me what im doing wrong, as these images look so bloody gammy, but maybe ill have a brainwave...

William Henry

Just a little embroidery of mon petit nephew William. Its a rough for the Macmillian book prize, which i should really be doing instead of sitting on here.
